A 33-year-old San Francisco man was fatally shot Saturday evening at Concordia Park in East Oakland.

The man was killed when gunfire erupted about 6:05 p.m. Saturday in the park near Camden Street and 63rd Avenue, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting. His name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Other people were at the park when the shots rang out, though no other injuries were reported.

Investigators found multiple shell casings at the park, authorities said. A motive for the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been announced.

The killing capped a violent 29-hour stretch in Oakland that saw four people killed and multiple others wounded in shootings across the city.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, one person died and two others were injured during the attempted robbery of a Brinks armored truck in the 4400 block of International Boulevard. Among those injured were a Brinks employee, as well as a bystander who was hit by the gunfire.

Nearly seven hours later, a 23-year-old man was found fatally shot in the 10600 block of E Street in deep East Oakland.

Shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday, a 36-year-old man was fatally shot in the 900 block of Brockhurst Street between Market Street and San Pablo Avenue. A 24-year-old man also was injured in the shooting.

The killing Saturday evening marked the 95th death investigated as a homicide this year by Oakland police. At this same time last year, Oakland police had investigated 100 homicides. The California Highway Patrol has also investigated five homicides on freeways in the city this year.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in Saturday night’s killing. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
